HB 1241

Professional Geologists of Indiana, Inc. (PGI) has joined the list of organizations who oppose HB 1241.  If passed into law HB 1241 would rewrite the definition of pollutant via legislation, and as a result would exclude insurance claims for environmental issues (spills, etc.) from being covered by current existing property insurance policies.
The State Senate Insurance Committee has placed the bill on the agenda for this Thursday, February 27, 2014.  Please take the time to contact your State Senator and the Senators on the Insurance Committee to inform them that you too oppose HB 1241.

Follow the "read more" link for additional details concerning the bill, the long list of interests (businesses, municipalities, organizations, etc.) who oppose the bill, contact information of Senators on the Insurance Committee, and correspondence written to Senators regarding the bill.
