PGI Awards

PGI recognizes valuable contributions to the science and profession of geology through annual awards given to geologists and their supporters. These awards have most recently been given at the annual spring Barbeque and Gathering of Indiana Geologists. No awards were given in the year 2000 because the award ceremonies were moved from autumn to spring. Aawards have not yet been given in 2007 because the ceremonies are moving back to the fall Annual Membership meeting. PGI Distinguished Geologist Award (for exemplary contributions to the science and profession of geology)

In 2007, this new award combined two previous awards, the Lifetime Achievement Award and the Distinguished Service Award.

Recipients have not been selected for 2007.

PGI Lifetime Achievement Award (honoring exemplary professionalism during the recipient’s career)

PGI Distinguished Service Award (for exemplary contributions to the science and profession of geology and/or to the PGI organization)

PGI Certificate of Appreciation (to geologists in recognition of lengthy service and valuable assistance to Indiana's geological community or to geoscientists in recognition of service on PGI’s Board of Directors)

PGI Citation of Merit (for meritorious service to PGI)
